Ahmedabad Sees 1,035 Pet Dogs Registered in 8 Days
Ahmedabad: Ever since the Cattle Nuisance Control Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched its online registration portal for pet dogs on New Year’s Day, a total of 1,035 pet dogs have been registered in the city.
Since the launch of the portal, 909 pet owners registered 1,035 in just eight days. The western regions of Ahmedabad saw the highest number of registrations with 695 dogs, with the eastern areas registering 340 dogs.
The North-West region received 255 dogs, with German Shepherds and huskies among the most registered dog breeds. In the western region, 245 dogs were registered, including German Shepherds and golden retrievers.
The AMC has now set a 90-day deadline for the pet dog registration process. It is now mandatory for pet owners in Ahmedabad to register their pets with the AMC before March 31, 2025. Pet parents who fail to comply with the registration process will be penalized.
