Pet’s date of birth
Famed for its natural beauty, heritage, and backwaters, Kerala is about as beautiful as it gets. It’s no surprise that the vibrant landscape and relaxed atmosphere have made Kerala a popular tourist destination for travelers nationally and internationally.
Given how it’s a popular tourist destination, it is no surprise that Cochin International Airport is kept busy throughout the year. It also is a pet friendly airport which has added provisions for international pet travel recently, meaning you can now travel across the globe with your pet.
If you live in India, you’ll be happy to know the requirements for pet relocations in Kerala are not too inconvenient. There are two requirements you need to fulfil to enjoy pet relocation services in Kerala:
Veterinary Health Certificate: This is a certificate that your vet will provide once your pet completes a health check-up. Also known as a fit-to-fly certificate, this document states your pet is healthy and fit to fly. Make sure that your vet signs off on this document.
Pet Passport: Just like us humans, your pet has a passport too, and it is just as important a document for them. A pets vaccination record doubles as their pet passport, and therefore it is important to maintain this passport and keep it updated with the details of your pets’ vaccinations, dated and stamped accordingly
Along with the vaccination against rabies and a titer test, there are a few other basic vaccines which are recommended before international pet travel.
Rabies , Canine Distemper , Parvovirus , Leptospirosis
Rabies , Feline Distemper , Feline Panleukopenia , Leptospirosis
A No Objection Certificate is necessary to enter the country, as well as any subsequent movement in to/out of it.
This certificate states your pet is not carrying any infectious diseases and is safe to travel. It is provided by the Animal Quarantine and Certification Service (AQCS) in India.
An international health certificate is provided by a registered vet. This certificate must bear the signature and stamp of the vet, certifying that the pet is healthy.
A pet microchip of the ISO 11784/11785 must be implanted in your pet. A microchip is the only proof of identity a pet has, so it is wise to get one as soon as possible.
