International Pet Transportation to Singapore

Singapore has a comprehensive set of guidelines dictating the import of live animals. these guidelines are thorough, so it is recommended you begin your preparations well ahead of time if you plan to travel to Singapore with your pet.

Pet Microchip

Your pet must be microchipped before travelling to Singapore. Pets must be implanted with the standard, non-encrypted, ISO-11784/11785 pet microchip.

Vaccinations Required for Pet Travel to Singapore

Your pet must be vaccinated against rabies before travelling. The vaccine must be administered at least 6 months before travelling. Pet must have a blood sample taken at least 30 days after the rabies vaccination and at least The results of the blood test must show that the vaccination was successful (rabies antibody level of at least 0.5 IU/ml). The titer test sample must be drawn at least 6 months before entering Singapore. Your pet must also be vaccinated against the following diseases at least two weeks before travelling:


For Dogs

  • Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Hepatitis.

For Cats

  • Feline Calicivirus, Feline Rhinotracheitis, Feline Panleukopenia.

Documentation for Pet Travel to Singapore

An international health certificate is required for a pet to enter Singapore. This will be provided by your veterinarian after a health examination. This certificate must be endorsed by the respective governmental agencies in the country of origin. The pet’s microchip number must be mentioned on the health certificate and rabies titer test certificate.

Your pet’s vaccination record (i.e., their pet passport) must be filled, signed, and stamped by an authorized veterinarian. Make Sure you carry copies of the same.You will also require an import permit to enter Singapore with your pet.

Testing Procedures

Your pet will require internal and external parasite treatment before travelling to Singapore. The treatment must be administered within 2 and 7 days of export.

Pet Quarantine

Pet’s must serve a mandatory quarantine period of 30 days when landing in Singapore. All pets entering Singapore are quarantined at the Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station. Reservations for quarantine must be made at least 3 months before your planned date of entry.

Banned Breeds

Singapore has certain breed-specific legislation which prevents them from travelling into the country. The following breeds of dog and any crossbreed puppies are banned in Singapore:

Pit Bulls, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, Akita, Boerboel, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa, Neapolitan Mastiff, Perro de Presa Canario.
