Uttar Pradesh: U.P. to Get Its First Dog Park in CG City

Uttar Pradesh is taking a step towards being a pet-friendly city, and has announced that the state’s first dog park will be under development shortly. The development process will be overseen by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), with the park to be located in CG city.

“Scores of people have pet dogs in the city, however, there is no suitable place for them to take a walk”, said Akshay Tripathi, the Vice-Chairperson of the LDA. “Often people prevent pet dogs from entering public parks. Therefore, LDA will develop a pet dog park”, he continued.

The dog park is set to be developed on three acres of land, in the southern region of CG city. Featuring a jogging track for pets, a play area, a swimming pool, a veterinary doctor’s clinic, a pet kiosk, a dog sanitization area, and a grooming kiosk, the project will be completed under the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund (RFID) at a cost of approximately Rs. 5-6 Crore.

Avanindra Kumar Singh, the executive engineer, said “Arrangements would be made for furniture, lighting systems, covered dog food court, dog accessories store, male & female toilet blocks, ticket counter and other will be provided in the park.
